This bar can be supplied in 3/8 if you want at 7.00 extra.  .050 guage will not always cut straight on anything over 32 inch.
3/8 reguardless of guage will not cut straight on anything over 36 after you use 15-20% of the new chain.
3/8 .063 is the correct choice for fastest cutting, you just have to accept that you cant resharpen very many times. After the chain gets to worn down you can reuse them by cutting them up for smaller chains on smaller bars.
Oregon use to make durapro chain that would work for long bars but they quit making it.
