    LUDWIG GREINER WAS AN IMMIGRANT FROM GERMANY WHO SETTLED IN PHILADELPHIA IN THE 1830'S.
    HE WAS LISTED AS A "TOY MAN" IN AN 1840 PHILADELPHIA DIRECTORY.
    HIS PATENT WAS ONE OF THE EARLIEST DOLL PATENTS.
    THIS GREINER'S 1858 DOLL WAS ONE OF THE FIRST PATENTED DOLLS IN THE US ON MARCH 3OTH 1858.
    MARKED NO. 8 ON THE BACK OF THE BUST, IS
    MADE WITH A CLOTH BODY, SHE HAS WHITE LEATHER ARMS, WHITE BISQUE HANDS (RIGHT ONE MISSING) AND A UNIQUE PAPIER MACHÉ HEAD.
    WITH BLACK HEAR AND BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES -
    IT MEASURES 28" LONG.
