Description

Up for auction/sale is a vintage Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort, Spa and Casino brass/gold tone metal room key. I believe this key dates circa 1975 when Hyatt originally purchased and renovated the "King's Castle at Incline Village".
On one side the key has the words: "Hyatt, Lake Tahoe" surrounding a large vintage Hyatt "The Bug" logo;
On the reverse are the words: "We hope you enjoy your stay in room" with the room number "403" stamped into the key.
As regards "The Bug" logo, I found the following excerpt from a Chicago Tribune article in 1990 about the new Hyatt logo:
"The bug logo, created in 1971, was originally supposed to be just for the Hyatt Regency O`Hare Hotel, which opened that year. It wasn`t until five or six years later, according to Hartley-Leonard, that it was adopted for all Hyatt hotels and resorts worldwide."
The key has a brass/golden tone and shows some mild signs of tarnish/staining, but is otherwise in excellent condition, lays flat, and measures roughly 3" long and 1 1/2" wide.
I have described this key as best I can, but to augment my description I have provided several high-resolution images of the key from varying angles and a couple close-ups of the key ends graphics.
This will be packaged with care to best ensure this rarely offered key arrives as pictured and described.
