Russian hand-painted papier mache lacquer box. The box depicts the stereotypical Russian Troika, or three-horse sleigh. The faces of the people are detailed and realistic. The box is from the Soviet USSR era, likely the 1970-80s and is in excellent vintage condition.

he box is signed in the lower lid in Cyrillic with the title “Troika”, the village name “Palekh”, and the artist's name “Zinov”. It measures approximately 4 1/8 inches by 3 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches tall.
